Where we at!
Tompkins Avenue OSM is located on Tompkins Avenue between Monroe & Gates. We have the ability to host up to 30 vendors with a mix of food, retail, artisan-made, and non-profit.
Why you want to hang with us!
The best part of this opportunity is the foot traffic! There were more than 15,000 shoppers in 2021 and 2022. We have planned for an amazing 2023 season. TAOSM is the premiere block on Tompkins Avenue to sell your unique products. TAOSM is a whole cultural & inclusive vibe.

Payment for ALL dates on the application must be included below. Please only sign up for dates you can pay for at once. Dates are available on a first come first paid basis. You will be added to a waiting list once each market date is full. Dates are not refundable and you can choose an alternate date in case of cancellation by the Market.

Tompkins Avenue between Gates and Monroe
Payment is accepted via Paypal/Credit Card ONLY. No cash, money orders, personal checks, or other digital forms.
Market Location: Tompkins Avenue between Monroe Ave and Gates Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Subway lines: G train to Bedford/Nostrand (closest) or C train to Throop (within walking distance)
Public Sales Hours: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Vendor Arrival Time: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. All Booths must be set up and ready for business at 12:00 pm. Vendors that arrive late will forfeit their payment and not be allowed to vend.
Vendor Placement: Assigned placement will be given the morning upon arrival
Loading: Loading zones on Monroe and Gates. Enter on the corners. Please use this as the drop-off and pick-up point. No vehicles are allowed on the street itself. Load-in is 11:00 am. Must be set up by 12:00 pm.
Parking: There is street parking. There are no parking permits. Please arrive early if you need to park in the surrounding area.
Set-Up:
Tents: We prefer white tents. Tents may be no larger than 10×10′. All tents must be clean. Tents are helpful for rain or shade from the sun. Proper weights are mandatory for everyone’s safety. All tents must have weights. Vendors may not exceed the footage of their designated space 10 x 10. All areas must be kept clean and walkways clear.
Table: Space of 6×6 will either be one 6ft. table or two 5-6ft racks. No tent is allowed with this setup.
Electricity: We do not provide electricity as this is an outdoor event. No gas generators are allowed.
No Music: Vendors are not permitted to play any music without authorization. TAOSM will provide event music.
Amenities:
Toilets: Neighboring shops will be asked to allow Vendor access.
Security: Keep an eye on your belongings at all times and an eye out for your neighbor if you’re able. We are not responsible for lost or stolen merchandise. We are not responsible for merchandise left behind.
Procedures: Safety rules include no smoking or alcohol in the market area. Bring your own garbage bags and hand sanitizer to each booth.
Cleanup: Each vendor space must be left free of any garbage or debris. All vendors are responsible for their garbage removal.
NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO BREAKDOWN BEFORE THE CLOSE OF THE EVENT (5:30 pm) as it is disruptive and unfair to your neighbors. Trash cans along the street corners are provided. NO BOXES ARE TO BE DISPOSED OF OR LEFT BEHIND.
Needing Help: We want to be there for you and will do our best to provide up to 15 minutes of coverage for bathroom breaks and lunch runs (one each but in exceptional circumstances additional breaks will be permitted).
Closures: TAOSM will close if there are severe weather conditions such as heavy rain, snowfall, hurricane-force winds, and/or if the government issues a weather warning deeming it unsafe to travel. We will close upon notification from either TAMA or BridgeStreet Development. We are also subject to closures at TAMA/BridgeStreet’s disposal which TAOSM is not responsible for but will do our best to reschedule paid vendors for another market date. TAOSM is not responsible for any travel-associated costs due to closures, including but not limited to airfare, train fare, bus fare, or lodging.
Tips for Smooth Selling:
Aesthetics are everything! Table coverings and display items help make the sale for you. Stored merchandise under the table should not be visible.
All tables must have a table cover.
Price all items in case you need help and are not at your space.
Essential Packing List:
· Portable battery pack
· Pens, sharpies, scissors, tape, wire, etc.
· Hand mirror or long mirror
· Packaging, shopping bags, tissue paper
· Business cards (QR codes for Instagram, etc.)
· Paper towels, toilet paper
· Credit card processing equipment (QR codes printed out for Cashapp, Venmo, etc.)
· Signage with your information (a picture frame or two with your information)
Help Us Spread The Word!
Getting the word out creates traffic for the event. Traffic means sales.
We are committed to publicizing the event via social media and advertising but you can help us spread the word.
ALL vendors must post twice to their page and once to their story each week they vend. This is without any exception. Otherwise, you will not be asked back to participate.

Booths are marked off by chalk.
Tables must have a tablecloth

Vendors provide their own signage. No particular requirements.
Prohibited items:
No sale of alcohol. No cannabis or CBD. No sale of mass-produced goods; Artisan goods only.
No generators or grills but can sell food and drink without alcohol. No racist, obscene, or profane goods are allowed.
Important:
If there is unexpected inclement weather during the event, vendors assume the risk of injury from lightning strikes, hail, rain, or any other events that may cause damage to their person or goods.
Make no representation about sales or the number of visitors to the market.
This is the only agreement, there are no other agreements oral, written, or otherwise.
No dispute, arbitration, or mediation.
Payment Details/Cancellations:
Cancellations due to weather, unforeseen circumstances, and/or TAMA or Bridge Street are not the responsibility of TAOSM and therefore do not qualify for refunds, except on a case-by-case basis at TAOSM’s discretion. We are also subject to closures at TAMA/BridgeStreet’s disposal which TAOSM is not responsible for but will do our best to reschedule paid vendors for another market date; there are no refunds. TAOSM is not responsible for any travel-associated costs due to closures, including but not limited to airfare, train fare, bus fare, or lodging.
These dates may be rescheduled but if a rescheduled date is missed the vending fee is forfeited.
No-shows receive no refunds.
Date changes 48 hours prior to the day of the market after booking require an additional $25.00+tax change fee to be paid before set up.
Late payments/Same Day payments require an additional $50.00+tax fee.
All fees must be paid in full before set up. No exceptions. All fees must be paid before set up and receipts must be shown the morning of the market before set up.
All additional amenities such as tents, tables, and chairs must be selected and paid for prior to the day of Open Streets. We recommend you bring your own tent, table, and chair.
Tompkins Avenue Open Street Market is not responsible for vendors’ property at all, especially not due to lost, theft, weather, or ANY other reason.
Vendor assumes their own risk by participating.
Throughout the summer we will be awarding discounts and prizes to the vendor with the best social media promotions
