TAOSM Same Day Vendor

Tompkins Avenue Open Street Market Vendor Agreement (TAOSM)

Please read this full page that acts as your contract, check the agreement box at the end, and then process your payment below.

Acceptable means of payment:
Paypal/Credit Card via www.MLN8NG.com ONLY. No cash or personal checks.

Any payment disputes must be handled via TAOSM. Disputes via your bank will have the funds returned from MLN8NG (3rd party ticketing site) vs TAOSM and you will be responsible for paying MLN8NG any lost funds.

Market Location: Tompkins Avenue between Monroe St & Gates Ave (Use 333 Tompkins Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11216 for GPS)
Subway lines: G train to Bedford/Nostrand closest) or C train to Throop (within walking distance)

October: 10/6 (10/13 rain date)

Setup Time: 11am – 12pm. 15 minutes is allowed to load in, then vehicles must move to street parking. Vendors that arrive late will forfeit their payment and not be allowed to vend.

Vendor Placement: Assigned placement will be given the morning upon arrival

Loading: Loading zones on Monroe and Gates. Enter on the corners. Please use this as the drop-off and pick-up point. No vehicles are allowed on the street itself.

Public Sales Hours: Must be set up by 12pm. Sales may be made from 12pm – 5:30pm.
Prohibited items: No sale of alcohol, cannabis/CBD, sexually explicit, or mass-produced goods. Artisan goods only. No racist, obscene, or profane goods are allowed.
No grills or generators that could cause a fire are allowed without approval from management. Vendors are allowed to sell food and drink without alcohol or cannabis/CBD.

Breakdown: Must start breakdown by 5:30pm and be completely off the street by 6pm.

Parking: There is street parking. There are no parking permits. Please arrive early if you need to find parking.

Tents: We prefer white tents. Tents may be no larger than 10×10. All tents must be clean. Tents are helpful as protection if it rains or shade from the sun. All tents must have weights. Proper weights are mandatory for everyone’s safety. Vendors may not exceed the footage of their designated space – 10×10 ft or 6×9 ft. Booths are marked off by chalk.
Table space of 6×9 will either be one 6ft. table or two 5-6ft racks. No tent is allowed with this setup.
All areas must be kept clean and walkways clear.
Electricity: We do not provide electricity as this is an outdoor event. No gas generators allowed.
No Music: Vendors are not permitted to play any music without authorization. TAOSM will provide event music.

Toilets: Neighboring shops will be asked to allow Vendor access.
Security: Keep an eye on your belongings at all times and an eye out for your neighbor if you’re able. We are not responsible for lost or stolen merchandise. We are not responsible for merchandise left behind.
Procedures: Safety rules include no smoking or alcohol in the market area. Bring your own garbage bags and hand sanitizer at each booth.

Cleanup: Each vendor space must be left free of any garbage or debris. All vendors are responsible for their garbage removal. NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO BREAKDOWN BEFORE THE CLOSE OF THE EVENT (5:30 pm) as it is disruptive and unfair to your neighbors. Trash cans along the street corners are provided. NO BOXES ARE TO BE DISPOSED OF OR LEFT BEHIND.

Needing Help: We want to be there for you and will do our best to provide up to 15 minutes of coverage for bathroom breaks and lunch runs (one each but in exceptional circumstances additional breaks will be permitted).

Closures: TAOSM will close if there are severe weather conditions such as heavy snowfall, hurricane-force winds, and/or the government issues a weather warning deeming it unsafe to travel. We will close upon notification from either TAMA or BridgeStreet Development.

Tips for Smooth Selling:
Aesthetics are everything! Table coverings and display items help make the sale for you. Stored merchandise under the table should not be visible.
All tables must have a table cover.
Price all items in case you need help

Essential Packing List:
* Portable battery pack
* Pens, sharpies, scissors, tape, wire, etc.
* Hand mirror or long mirror
* Packaging, shopping bags, tissue paper, etc.
* Business cards (QR codes for Instagram, etc.)
* Paper towels, toilet paper
* Credit card processing equipment (QR codes printed for Venmo, Cashapp, etc.)
* Signage with your information (a picture frame or two with your information)

Help Us Spread The Word!
Getting the word out creates traffic for the event. Traffic means sales.
We are committed to publicizing the event via social media and advertising but you can help us spread the word.

ALL vendors must post twice to their page and once to their story each week they vend. This is without any exception. Otherwise, you will not be asked back to participate.

Same Day Vending Fees:
* 10×10 general merchandise and snack/drink vendors: $175.00+tax (no sharing)
* Food, food trucks, and Corporate vendors: $225+tax (no sharing)
* 6ft table, non-profit, or students: $125+tax (no sharing) Applicable for students under 16 years of age with a confirmed business in their name or nonprofit with proof of 501C3 status.

TAOSM makes no representation about sales or number of visitors. This is the only agreement, no other agreements, oral or written. You may not bring legal proceedings to Tompkins Avenue Open Streets Market or any of its owners, staff, or contracted staff as they are not responsible for your participation in this market. There will be no disputes, arbitration, or mediation.

Cancellations, Reschedules, and Refunds:
Cancellations due to weather, unforeseen circumstances, and TAMA or Bridge Street are not the responsibility of TAOSM and therefore do not qualify for refunds, except on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of TAOSM. These dates may be rescheduled, but, if a rescheduled date is missed, the vending fee is forfeited.

No-shows do not receive refunds under any circumstance.

Late payments for sale day setup require an additional $50+tax fee.
Same-day payments will have an additional 50+tax fee.
All fees must be paid in full before set-up and receipts must be shown. No exceptions.

Applications must be received by 12pm the Thursday before a Market.
After approval, Market payments must be received by 7pm the Friday before a Market, otherwise Vendors must purchase a Same Day Ticket.

All additional amenities such as rented tents, tables, and chairs must be selected and paid for before the day of the Market. We recommend you bring your own tent, table, and chair.

Throughout the summer we will be awarding discounts and prizes to the vendor with the best social media promotions.

By paying to participate, you agree to be bound by this agreement.
